Congratulations!
You just defined your job description!
Tell me, how did Steve Jobs start his entrepreneurial journey? With no capital, no experience, no connections!
How did Elon Musk start his first business? With no capital, no experience, no connections!
To answer your question, what’s my advice for a new entrepreneur with no real resources?
Embrace your job!
Your job as an entrepreneur is to solve problems. See yourself as a puzzle maker. Entrepreneurship is actually the art and the science of putting the pieces together. No capital? Your job is to find it. No experience? Your job is to never stop learning and control your fear of failure. No connections? Your job is to get out of your comfort zone and find the people that will lead you to your goals. Most importantly… Never GiveUp! Hector Quintanilla, Every successful entrepreneur once asked themselves these questions at the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey. Money is not the first thing you need. Imagine who has never hunted. You give him a gun to hunt for an animal in the forest. Do you think he will come back successful? No, because he does not know how to hunt. So it is with entreprenuership. Here are some tips to get started. Education - “A journey of a thousand miles begin with a step” - Laozi. Education should be your first step. If you are not well informed please don't start unless you will learn the hard way. There are cases people never recovered from. Education can be informal or formal. I like informal way of learning when dealing with business because it works for me. I read books, I browse the internet looking for answers, i engage my self in discussions with people better than me. So look for what works for you. Learn everyday. Creativity - Hundreds of years back only the rich could get involved in real estate. But in this 21st century if you do have little or no money to invest in real estate that is not a problem. All you need to do is learn how the system works. In doing so that sparks the creativity in you. (Check out Brandon Turner on bigger Leverage - Understanding and using leverage is your friend. You need money to start a business, use leverage. You need more time to complete a project, use leverage. You need something to be done, use leverage. Negotiation - To obtain leverage, you need to get better at negotiating. What can I give or do for you. So that you can give me your horse power or time or money. Negotiating is a win win scenario. Socialization - I would have use the word communication or participation. But socialization seems better. Participate or socialize or communicate with who? With like minded persons. “Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are.” Join forums, groups, seminars etc Skill-up - You need a high demand skill. It could be a source of capital. But you might have a high demand skill and still not make money. You need business skill too. Let's say you are a skilled fashion designer and you don't know how to attract clients or negotiate better deals. Your business will suffer. Examples of some high demand skills are copywriting, coding, consultancy, digital marketing etc I'm taking a course on copywriting because I love the idea of understanding peoples problem and trying to help. But learning to write can be challenging. That is why I have decided to use Quora as a medium for practice. If you like my answer show me some love to fuel my optimism. Chinemerem Okpuruk
